The Top 3 Foundations by Giving Amount!

Summer is officially here!

Sunflower is busy writing all kinds of grants for our clients during a busy season. Seeds sowed
now will have a big impact on Fall and Winter programming for everyone. We are also hearing
good news from a lot of grants written this Spring and I congratulate all my clients who are in
the process of receiving much needed grant funding!

Craig and I took time to plant our annual, giant Sunflower in the back yard last weekend and I
will follow up with photos once it reaches its full height in August.

SPECIAL DAYS

June 5: World Environment Day
June 14: National Flag Day
June 16: National Career Nurse Assistants Day
June 17: Take a Road Trip Day!

FACT

The top three corporate foundations by giving amount are: 1) Novartis Patient Assistance
Foundation, Inc.; 2) Wells Fargo Foundation; 3) Wal-Mart Foundation, Inc.

TIP

Most grants take approximately 1-6 months from proposal submission to award decision. Make
sure that your organization has planned to wait this long to receive awarded funds.

TRICK

Try to make a contact who works inside a Foundation you are interested in receiving funding
from. It helps immensely to have someone inside the organization who can answer basic
questions and sometimes give you information that may not be widely public about the grant.

GRANT OPPORTUNITY

CREATIVE AGING ARTS PROGRAM (CAAP)

Engaging Older Adults through Drama, Music, Writing, Dance, and Art

A limited number of Creative Aging through the Arts Program (CAAP) grants are still available for artist-led workshops at non-profits, libraries, and other local government agencies serving older adults in Nebraska. Grant applications are accepted first-come, first-served for programs taking place through August 31.

Grants cover all costs of CAAP workshops including artist fees, travel costs, and art supplies.

Applicant organizations select from a list of trained CAAP Artists to lead a series of workshops in music, creative writing, drama, dance, or artmaking. Participants develop artistic skills while socializing with peers. Programs end with a final performance, exhibit or reading, shared with the local community.
